Amy Winehouse. Where do I even begin. This woman was one of my greatest musical examples and biggest inspirations when I was in my early twenties (and beyond).
She paved the way for a bunch of artists after her who went back to the roots of making music for the sake of music. She wrote about her broken heart and explained perfectly how a messed up family start can mess you up. (Listen to Tears Dry On Their Own, What Is It About Men & You Know I’m No Good)
She was a bad-ass who didn’t compromise and gave us pure talent. This is just my intro as to why Amy meant so much to me. So much more to come.
